Pia tries swimming with plate armor on, Mink is captured by a wizard who uses dry ice to make it look like he makes mists when he enters the room...the king is an ugly, balding hornball, the dreamy knight is also a pop singer, the princess is half slime which look like ditto if ditto was oval shaped--she usually looks humanoid, but if her body is put under stress she changes back...Mink's parents are a dragonslayer and a red dragon--the most dangerous kind of all...

I feel that too much detail of the room veers away from the point of the conversation etc. I even do a good third person ominous with thoughts.

I'm usually very busy, so when I finally have time to draw, I want to draw whatever I feel like drawing at that moment, instead of "forcing" myself to draw some contest theme >_________<
Also, I'm never pleased enough with my art to enter a contest =[
Sorry for lame reasons that don't help much >_____<
But I guess, I'd rather enter a contest if it has a loooong deadline XD

2011-01-12 [wicked fae mage]: Ah, alright. As a crew trainee I've been trying to increase participation so knowing some reasons so we can make contests more fun helps, even if you think they're lame :P

I guess, I don't really like contests that are too free. It makes it hard to come up with an idea =(
Obviously they shouldn't bee too specific either...
But I remember I used to hate the tests at school that only consisted of one word, and you had to draw something inspired by that D:

2011-01-12 [wicked fae mage]: Our art classes were never tests, aside from one random trivia quiz he gave us on the first day of class in 8th grade. I knew everything on it and that surprised him. The questions I remembered are:

-Who painted "Starry Night"?
-Who painted "Mona Lisa"?
-Name the 3 primary colors.
-Name the 3 secondary colors.
-Name the intermediate colors.
-Name the type of painting shown here: (shows us a fresco).
-The name of the lines drawn that give a drawing 3 dimensions, bringing all points of a drawing together: (converging lines).
-Who painted the Sistine chapel?
-What is this style? (shows us mosaic)
-Art of nonliving things: still life.

He just wanted to see how much we knew about art and art history.


We were graded on doing the assignments, following directions, being original and whether or not you did your work by hand got you bonus points.

2011-01-13 [Aliz]: Ah, but I went to art high school ^^;
In high school here, you get to chose between different "courses", so if you chose for example sports, you have 15+++ hours a week with PE, or if you chose art, you have 15+++ hours a week with different art classes ^^;
So all my exams, tests, assigments, homework was to paint/draw/sculpture/etc XD
(we also had art history as a separate class, where we learnt all the major periods and to analyze art ^^;)
